Danyang is shaped by the Namhangang River and limestone mountains. Dodamsambong, caves, Mancheonha Skywalk, and paragliding sites look close on a map but use separate roads and ticket systems.
Use town as your anchor
Danyang Station is outside the market and main riverside district. Transfer by bus or taxi and store luggage first. Save each attraction’s exact entrance because mountain facilities may have separate ticket and shuttle points.

This is more practical than choosing a remote pension simply because it looks close on a regional map.
Build two different days
- Town-and-river day: Combine Dodamsambong Peaks, the riverside center, Danyang Market, and one cave or short viewpoint. Check cave closing times before lunch and avoid assuming every attraction is within walking distance.
- Landscape day: Choose either a Chungjuho Lake viewpoint and cruise area, a Seonam Valley route, or a Sobaeksan hike. The Eight Scenic Views are a regional collection, not a compact sightseeing loop, so attempting all eight produces a rushed driving day.
Transport and activity decisions
Confirm whether your train stops at Danyang Station and check the final local connection before booking. Taxis are useful for linking one or two outlying sights, but a series of long rides can cost more than a planned tour. Paragliding, cruises, and mountain activities depend on wind, visibility, and seasonal operations; reserve only after reading cancellation and return-transport conditions. Spring flower periods and autumn weekends can also increase demand for rooms and transport.
Accessibility and a slower alternative
Caves, mountain viewpoints, and river cliffs may involve steep paths, stairs, damp surfaces, or exposed edges. Travelers who prefer a lower-effort day can focus on Dodamsambong, the riverside promenade, the market, and cafés near town.
